Hamster Exercise

Exercise is a key factor to keeping your hamster healthy, and fit. You can give your hamster a lot of exercise but it requires a few extra items such as the very popular Hamster Ball and Wheel both are essentials in my book.

There are many ways of providing your hamster with exercise and fun here are just some of them.

Common activities consist of:

- Wheel

Hamster Wheel

- Plastic Ball

Hamster Ball

These are both great ways to keep your hamster fit and healthy, I will briefly explain how these products work.

The hamster simply steps inside the enclosed or open wheel and begins moving, causing the plastic cover to move along with it, Apart from the hamster will never understood the concept of the wheel because it will never reach its destination! The path is on-going.

The plastic ball is meant for on any flooring or carpet, simply place your hamster inside (there should be a small hatch that twists off) Place the lid on and put on the floor in an enclosed area.

Hamster 'exercise balls' should be used with care - your Hamster can soon become exhausted.

The hamster could take some time to get used to how it works but should catch on soon enough as it begins to move along with the wheel. The hamster should begin to rotate the wheel and move along the floor, so don't worry if it starts crashing against walls etc. It will soon get its bearings and sense of direction!

Here's a cute little video of a hamster in his pink ball!
